Detective Positions
The number of positions available in the Investigation Division depends on the number of vacancies in a given year and any increase in authorized strength granted by the Freeholders. Applications must be PICKED UP at the Investigation Division.
Requirements:
- You must have attended a basic police training course, certified by the New Jersey State Police Commission;
- You must have served as a law enforcement officer for a federal, state, county, or municipal police agency for a minimum period of three years;
- If you are older than 35 years of age, you cannot participate in the NJ Police and Fire Pension System, but would be eligible for the Public Employee Retirement System;
- If you presently live outside of Monmouth County, you must become a County resident within one year of hiring.
